REDWOOD FALLS -- Lyle Raddatz, 74, of Redwood Falls died Sunday at his home after a long battle with cancer.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be at the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
He was born Nov. 20, 1931, in New Avon Township to Reinhold and Cecelia Raddatz. He graduated from Wabasso High School in 1949. He was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1952 and served in the Korean War.

He married Darlene Steinhouse on Jan. 6, 1957. He worked as a carpenter, then at the Redwood Falls Post Office in 1964. He was promoted to supervisor and retired in 1992 as post master.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls and served on the church council. He served on the cable tower commission and was president. He was a member of the Redwood Falls VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife; four children: Dennis Radditz of Lakeville, Debra (and Drew) Mattson of Eagan, Tamara (and Russ) Sander of Lake Hills, Texas, Troy (and Tina) Raddatz of Farmington; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers: Loren Raddatz and Marlin Raddatz, both of Morgan, and Harlan Raddatz of Redwood Falls.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
