WILLMAR -- Gonzalo Sanchez, 41, of Blomkest, was sentenced Monday to 36 months in prison, which was stayed, 270 days in the county jail, 25 years of probation and a $1,500 fine on a second-degree criminal sexual conduct for having sexual contact in October 2009 with a now 13-year-old girl.
As part of a plea agreement reached in Kandiyohi County District Court, the charge was reduced from first-degree and another first-degree charge was dismissed.
The charges were filed after a man and a woman came to the Law Enforcement Center on Feb. 22 and reported that their daughter, who was 12 years old at the time, had been sexually assaulted.
They reported learning that Sanchez had touched the girl while she stayed over at his home in October or November of last year. The girl later relayed similar information to an investigating detective.
