MONTEVIDEO -- A Montevideo man was arrested for driving while impaired early Friday morning after a vehicle he was driving struck a city police vehicle head-on.
Meliquedec Ramos was driving a 1993 Ford Escort that crossed the center line and struck a 2008 Ford Expedition driven by Sgt. Ken Schule. The accident happened around 1 a.m. along Canyon Avenue, according to a news release from Police Chief Adam Christopher. Neither man was injured.
Ramos was arrested by the Chippewa County sheriff's deputy called to investigate the accident. He appeared intoxicated and refused field sobriety testing. He later submitted to a urine test and results are pending.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.
