NEW LONDON -- A man reportedly led a Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputy on a high-speed chase Wednesday evening near Sibley State Park.
The sheriff's office received report around 7 p.m. Wednesday of a suspicious person parked for several hours in the 3000 block of Kandiyohi County Road 40, according to a press release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
A deputy made contact with the occupant of the vehicle, who then fled in his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The chase continued for about two miles before the man stopped and was arrested on U.S. Highway 71 south of Minnesota Highway 9, according to the press release.
Assisting the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office was the Minnesota State Patrol.
