WILLMAR -- The 33-year-old man charged with aggravated robbery and second-degree assault for allegedly robbing a Willmar liquor store had worked at the store and apparently knew the man he was robbing.

According to the complaint filed in Kandiyohi County District Court, Miguel Gregorio Camarillo entered the store, bought a quart of beer, left and then returned to find the store clerk in a back room. The man attempted to get Camarillo to leave, but he wouldn't. Camarillo pulled a knife, the men struggled over it and then the suspect fled.

Unconditional bail was set at $200,000 by Judge Donald M. Spilseth. No conditional bail was allowed. Camarillo's next court appearance is Dec. 8.

According to the complaint, Willmar police officers and Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputies responded to the panic alarm sounded around 9:11 p.m. Monday from Gerry's Liquors, 810 Litchfield Ave. S.W. The store clerk and citizens in the area gave a description of the man and pointed out that he was hiding behind a vehicle a couple of blocks away. He was taken into custody.

The store clerk said he knew Camarillo because the man had worked at the store about three months ago. He said while they struggled for control of the knife, Camarillo said he had a gun.
