WILLMAR -- A 33-year-old Willmar man made his first appearance Thursday on a first-degree drug sale charge for allegedly selling methamphetamines to a CEE-VI Drug Task Force agent in October.
Unconditional bail was set at $300,000 for Ricardo David Gomez. No conditional bail was set. His next appearance is Jan. 28.
According to the complaint, as part of an investigation this summer into the sale of meth in the Willmar area, CEE-VI agents worked with a confidential informant who could buy drugs from "Posse Gomez", which agents knew to include Ricardo Gomez, a sister and at least three of his brothers, all identified with nicknames.
The informant used CEE-VI funds to buy meth from Gomez on two occasions on Oct. 16 and 30. The Oct. 16 purchase of 3.4 grams of meth occurred near a park on the southeast side of town. The Oct. 30 purchase of 9.2 grams also occurred in Willmar.
