BELGRADE -- One man was killed Monday afternoon in a fire in Belgrade.
Forrest Scott Verhoeff, 45, was found dead in a shed on a property at 21602 U.S. Hwy. 71, according to Stearns County Chief Deputy Bruce Bechtold.
Forrest Verhoeff's brother, Calvin Dean Verhoeff, 49, who owns the property, saw smoke coming from the shed and went to investigate, Bechtold said.
Calvin Verhoeff found his brother on the floor. He attempted to pull him out of the shed, but was unable to move him. Calvin Verhoeff then called 911, and firefighters said Forrest Verhoeff was already dead, Bechtold said.
It is believed Forrest Verhoeff was living in the shed, Bechtold said.

The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall's Office and the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, Bechtold said.
