A Villard man was injured Monday after he braked his vehicle to avoid multiple deer on Interstate Highway 94 and was rear-ended by a Volvo truck pulling a semi trailer.
The State Patrol says Belester V. Sobreyra, 55, was taken to CentraCare Health in Sauk Centre with injuries thought to be non-life threatening.
Sobreyra’s 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was rear-ended by a Volvo VNL semi truck, driven by David N. Dunham, 54, of Pelican Rapids, just before 9:30 a.m. as both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 near Sauk Centre.
Dunham and his passenger, Napoleon N. Clark, 36, of Dickinson, South Dakota, were not injured in the crash.
Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor. Both vehicles were totalled in the collision.
