Man injured when pickup, train collide east of Danube

DANUBE -- A rural Danube man was injured Saturday afternoon when the pickup he was driving collided with an eastbound TC&W train two miles east of Danube.

DANUBE - A rural Danube man was injured Saturday afternoon when the pickup he was driving collided with an eastbound TC&W train two miles east of Danube.

According to a report from the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary investigation indicated Chad William Amsden, 35, of rural Danube, failed to stop at the stop sign at the railroad tracks. He had been driving south on 270th Street.

Amsden was transported by North Memorial Air Care to North Memorial Medical Center.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation is continuing, according to the release.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the xcene were Renville Ambulance, Renville Rescue, Danube Fire, Danube Police Department and Danube Medical Response Unit.
