Man seriously injured in fall from roof in rural Olivia, Minn.

OLIVIA -- A 25-year-old man was seriously injured this morning in a fall at a farm site in Renville County.

According to a news release from Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable, the man had been working on top of a newly constructed building and fell through an open section of roof to the concrete approximately 30 feet below.

The man was flown by North Memorial Air Care from the scene to the Avera-McKennan Hospital-University Health Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., with serious injuries. Sheriff Hable did not identify the man.

The fall was reported at 9:23 a.m. Monday on a farm site in the 75000 block of 350th Street in rural Olivia, about four miles south of Olivia in Norfolk Township.

Olivia Ambulance also responded.

The incident is being investigated by the Renville County Sheriff's Office.
