WILLMAR – A man was shot with a flare gun late Wednesday night after arguing with another man in a Willmar business.

The victim was not injured and the suspect – who fled the scene – has not been located

Police were notified at 11:45 p.m. that an assault had taken place at a business in the 400 block of First Street South.

Officers learned that a verbal argument had taken place between two customers inside the store and that both were asked to leave by store employees.

According to a news release issued by Willmar Police Chief Jim Felt, as the men exited the store one man pulled an orange flare launching pistol from his clothing, shot it at the other person and then ran from the scene.
