A 21-year-old Cosmos man, who is wanted on charges in Kandiyohi and Meeker counties, fled from officers into a cornfield Tuesday afternoon. Officers from multiple agencies searched for Devin Delbert Donald Blom, but were unable to locate him.
According to a news release from the Litchfield Police Department, the department, Meeker County Sheriff's Office and the CEE-VI Drug Task Force served a search warrant around 4 p.m. Tuesday on a home at 28132 County Road 25, just west of Grove City. At the same time, an arrest warrant was to be served on Blom.
Officers attempted a traffic stop on Blom's vehicle nearby. He fled in the vehicle and officers pursued. Blom abandoned the vehicle and fled into a cornfield in the area of 283rd Street and 530th Avenue.
The officers set up a perimeter in an attempt to locate Blom and a State Patrol helicopter was used, but he was not located, according to the release.
Blom is wanted in Kandiyohi County on charges of first-degree burglary and in connection to an on-going drug investigation by the Litchfield PD. A search of the home along County Road 25 revealed controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and other contraband. Officers also located items involved in the Kandiyohi County burglary.
