Manfred C.J. 'Pete' Hiepler

MADISON -- Manfred Carl John "Pete" Hiepler, 80, of Madison died Thursday at his home in Madison.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. Burial will be at Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Madison Lutheran Home Chapel, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.

He was born July 29, 1925, in Perry Township, Lac qui Parle County, to Bernhard and Minna (Boehnke) Hiepler. He attended school through the eighth grade in Bellingham.
He married G. Mildred Shelstad on April 10, 1955. He farmed west of Bellingham until 1999. They moved to Madison in 1991, and he ran a custom corn-shelling business. He was a caregiver to his wife the last few years.
He is survived by his wife; children: Bonnie (and Jim) Vaala of Appleton, Robert (and Bev) Hiepler of Bellingham, Annette Larson of New Brighton; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Clarence Hiepler of Madison, Dorothy Weber of Bellingham, Luella Anderson of Madison, and Carol (and Darwin) Andreason of Odessa.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
