WILLMAR -- Margaret L. "Maggie" Schwingler, 86, of Willmar, formerly of Atwater, died Wednesday at Bethesda Pleasantview in Willmar.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Madelia.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar, with a prayer service at 5 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
She was born July 21, 1919, in Madelia to Ross and Floy (Hamilton) Murphy. She attended Madelia Public School and graduated in 1937.

She married Raymond Schwingler on Sept. 19, 1937. They farmed west of Madelia. They moved to rural Atwater in 1946 and raised registered Holstein cattle. They retired from farming in 1971. Ray died in 1980.
She was active in the ladies aid, senior choir and directed the junior choir at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was a member of the day activity center, garden club, home extension, the Women's Bowling Association locally and nationally, and was a volunteer at Rice Memorial Hospital. She was the first woman elected to the Kandiyohi County Fairboard and served as secretary/manager for 25 years. She served on the board of directors and was president of the Minnesota Federation of County Fairs.
She is survived by her children: Sharon (and Jim) Stillings of Roseville, Mike (and Mary) Schwingler of Atwater; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.
