FRANKLIN -- Marie Ellen Colwell, 87, of Franklin died Saturday in Shoreview.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin. Burial will be at the Eden Mount Hope Cemetery, Eden Township, Brown County.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and for one hour prior to service Friday at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Mount Hope Cemetery, Franklin City Cemetery, or the Cancer Care Center at Redwood Area Hospital.
She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Franklin to John and Lena (Gerstenkorn) Schroeder. She grew up in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School. She then attended the Minneapolis School of Business. She worked in the Twin Cities.

She married Marvin Korting on Sept. 12, 1942, in Franklin. They lived in Minneapolis. Marvin died in 1944. She lived and worked in the Twin Cities as a secretary.
She married Robert Colwell on March 10, 1950, in Franklin. They also lived in Rapid City, S.D., Pacific Grove, Calif., and New London. They returned to Franklin in 1982. Bob died in 1986.
She is survived by her children: Mark (and Julie) Korting of Anchorage, Alaska, Sandra Fischer of Blaine, and Kay (and Peter) Hanson of Shoreview; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; siblings: Mabel Johnson of Morton, Lawrence (and Phyllis) Schroeder of White Fish, Mont., Bruce (and Bev) Schroeder of Redwood Falls.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands and four siblings.
