GRANITE FALLS -- Marie Evangeline Thompson, 82, of Granite Falls, formerly of the Maynard area, died Monday at the Granite Falls Manor.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Wang Lutheran Church in rural Maynard. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls. Memorials are preferred to the Wang Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund or Granite Falls Hospice.
She was born Sept. 12, 1924, in Maynard to Nels and Gurina (Anderson) Thompson. She attended country school in Wang Township and graduated from high school in Maynard.

She lived at home and helped on the farm. She worked for some time at the café in Maynard and at the Clara City Care Center. She cared for her mother for many years. She recently lived at the Henry Hill Apartments.
She was a lifelong member of Wang Lutheran Church; where she was in the Wang Ladies Aid. She also was a member of a women's group that visited those who were ill.
She is survived by her brother-in-law: Victor Bierbaum of Willmar, a sister-in-law: Alice Thompson of Willmar and special friend: Leo Duis of Granite Falls.
She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and seven sisters.
