Nov. 13, 1918 - July 16, 2007 COTTAGE GROVE, ORE. -- Marjorie L. "Marge" Ryan, 88, of Cottage Grove, Ore., formerly of Redwood Falls, died July 16 in a hospital near her home from complications following a recent stroke. The service will be at 1 p.m.

COTTAGE GROVE, ORE. -- Marjorie L. "Marge" Ryan, 88, of Cottage Grove, Ore., formerly of Redwood Falls, died July 16 in a hospital near her home from complications following a recent stroke.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service chapel in Redwood Falls. A graveside ceremony will follow at the Redwood Falls Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral service.

She was born Nov. 13, 1918, in Renville to Mack and Lulu Pettis.

She married Jack Simondet in 1940. They lived in Redwood Falls. She worked as the school secretary at Reede Gray Elementary School. Following her husband's death, in 1966, she moved to be near two of her sisters and her brother in California; where she worked as an executive secretary for the J.W. Robinson department stores.

She married William Ryan in 1973. They lived in San Diego, Calif. They retired in Oregon until her husband's death in 2007.

She is survived by her daughter: Karen (and Tom) Swenson of Madison,Wis.; son: Michael (and Marilyn) Simondet of San Marcos, Texas; sisters: Maxine Knudson of Redwood Falls, Bee Barbier of Oceanside, Calif., and Janet Cook of Concord, Calif.; one brother: Jim Pettis of Marysville, Calif.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her late husband's daughters.

She was preceded in death by her husbands.
