BENSON -- Marlene Agnes "Jake" Peterson, 87, of Benson, formerly of Murdock, died Monday at Central Minnesota Senior Care in Benson.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Lutheran Church in rural Murdock. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service today at the church. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
She was born April 7, 1920, in Inkster, N.D., to Alfred and Clara (Anderson) Jacobson. She grew up and attended school in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. In 1941, she graduated as a registered nurse from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Pierre, S.D. She moved to Benson and started working at the Benson Hospital in 1941.

She married Carl O. E. Peterson on June 9, 1946, in rural Clitheral. They farmed in Hayes Township, Swift County. She continued to work at the hospital for more than 35 years. They moved to Scofield Place in Benson in 2001.
She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and the women's group. She also was a member of the SCBH Auxiliary and the SCBH Foundation.
She is survived by a brother-in-law: Roy Mickelson of Vining; sister-in-law: Pearl Jacobson of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; a son: Richard Peterson; two brothers; and a sister.
