WILLMAR -- Marlin Irving "Mike" Kloster, 77, of Willmar died Saturday at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Lake Lutheran Church in rural Spicer. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.

He was born March 13, 1929, in Green Lake Township to Morgan and Lillie Kloster. He grew up in Green Lake Township and attended country school. He graduated from Willmar High School in 1947 and then attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis.

He married Hazel in 1950. He worked for John Deere Company in Minneapolis for a short time and later worked in carpet sales. The family lived in Minneapolis, Sioux Falls, S.D., Omaha, Neb., and then moved to Golden Valley in 1968. he moved to Rapid City, S.D., in 1994 and then returned to Willmar in 2002.

He is survived by his children: David (and Barbara) Kloster of Paynesville, Jane (and Greg) Howe of St. Louis Park, Mary (and Rod) VanVorst of Savage, Paul (and Mary Kay) Kloster of Farmington; former wife: Hazel of Hudson, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and two brothers.
