Marlys M. Folkens

CLINTON -- Marlys Marie Folkens, 83, of Appleton, formerly of Clinton, died Wednesday at the Ortonville Hospital.
The service will be at 1 p.m. today at United Methodist Church in Clinton. Burial will be at the Clinton City Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Moberg-Larson Funeral Home in Clinton.

She was born July 19, 1923, Grant County, S.D., to Elmer and Evelyn (Kosse) Christians. She graduated from Milbank, S.D., High School in 1943.
She married Carl Folkens on Jan. 25, 1945, in Clinton. She lived in Portland, Ore., while Carl was in the service, and they returned to Clinton in 1946 and farmed. Carl died in 2003, and she moved to Apple Ridge Independent Living in Appleton.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children: Charles (and Donna) Folkens of Big Lake, Linda (and Richard) Ehrenberg of Correll, Judy (and Donald) Puffer of Southwick, Mass., Douglas (and Sharon) Folkens of Hector, Barbara Hannes of Litchfield; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Raymond Christians and Beverly (and Phillip) Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and three sisters.
