PRINSBURG -- Martha Marcus, 79, of Prinsburg died Tuesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Burial will be at Holland Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Memorials are preferred to Central Minnesota Christian School, First Christian Reformed Church or Rice Hospice.
She was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Holland Township to Minard and Minnie (Visser) Swart. She grew up in Holland Township and attended country schools and Danube High School.

She married Alfred Marcus on Feb. 13, 1947, in Prinsburg. They lived and farmed in Holland Township until 1970 and later moved to Prinsburg. She also worked for Willmar Poultry from 1968 until her retirement in 1988.
She served Central Minnesota Christian School by being on the PTA and numerous committees. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she was active in mission club, with the ladies circle and with the quilters group. She also volunteered at the Bibles for Mission Thrift Store and with Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her husband; her children: Cheryl (and Burt) Boonstra of Edina, Ardell (and Sue) Marcus of Ham Lake and Marilee (and Al) Schut of Muskegon, Mich.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother: Clarence (and Katie) Swart of Prinsburg; and a sister: Marion (and Darrel) Tinklenberg of Pipestone.
She was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers and a granddaughter.
