BROOTEN -- Marvin G. Elvehjem, 69, of Evansville, formerly of Brooten, died Sunday at his home.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at West Lake Johanna Lutheran Church in rural Brooten. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
He was born Aug. 31, 1937, in Brooten to Egbert and Evelyn (Paulson) Elvehjem. He attended Barsness and Gilchrist country schools and worked on the farm with his father. When he was 20, he moved to a home. He lived with Terrie Mohrmann in Evansville for 33 years. He worked at the Grant County DAC in Hoffman and most recently at the DAC in Alexandria.

He is survived by his siblings: Eileen (and Rodney) Bjorlin of Buffalo, Ardis Westrud of Park Rapids, John (and Chung) Elvehjem of Wadena; foster parents: Terrie and Terry Mohrmann and their children: Dan Mohrmann, Heidi Englund, all of Evansville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and foster mother: Alice Hamilton.
