PENNOCK -- Mary Ellen Crowley, 54, of Pennock died Thursday at her home.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Burial will be at Mamrelund Lutheran Cemetery in rural Pennock.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar, with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

She was born Jan. 3, 1953, in Mobridge, S.D., to Arnold and Helen (Kightlinger) Hanson. She grew up on the family farm north of Glenham, S.D., attended Wayside Country School until the eighth grade, and graduated from Glenham High School in 1971. She helped her father farm, worked at Citizens Bank in Mobridge and then moved to Milbank, S.D.

She married Kevin Crowley on March 10, 1978, in Webster, S.D. They moved to Mobridge in 1979 and then to Slayton in 1980. They moved to Pennock in 1983. She cooked at the Pennock Café and owned and operated Kandi Laundromat for a number of years. She also worked at West Central Electrical and was the senior dining coordinator at the Pennock nutrition site.

She was a member of Church of St. Mary in Willmar and volunteered in Pennock.

She is survived by her husband; son: Matthew of Pennock; and her siblings: AnnaMarie (and Charles) Kosel of Cedarburg, Wis., William (and Eunice) Hanson of Oceanside, Calif., Arlene (and Larry) Cross of Riverton, Wyo., James (and Gloria) of Milbank, S.D., Marlys (and Bob) Byre of Brandon, S.D., and Ralph (and Darlene) Hanson of Pollock, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
