PRINSBURG -- Mary Kay Swierenga, 53, of Prinsburg, died Saturday at her home in Prinsburg due to multiple sclerosis. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Interment will be in the Holland...

PRINSBURG -- Mary Kay Swierenga, 53, of Prinsburg, died Saturday at her home in Prinsburg due to multiple sclerosis.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Interment will be in the Holland Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tri County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born Feb. 14, 1955, in Springfield to Donald C. and Harriet M. (Wolverton) Menz. She grew up in the Morton area and graduated from Morton High School in 1973. She attended Willmar Vo Tech, earning a degree in cosmetology in 1975. She worked at Flair Beauty Salon in Willmar until 1982.

She married Stanley E. Swierenga on Sept. 23, 1978, in Redwood Falls. They lived in Prinsburg. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, a GEMS leader and hosted ladies Bible study at her home. She was also a member of the Belview MS Support Group for over 25 years.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Travis "Trapper" (and April) Swierenga of Prinsburg; three grandsons; five sisters: Sharon (and Tom) Hennen of Denison, Iowa, Linda Haase of St. Cloud, Lila (and Rick) Bregel of Crystal, Carol (and Doug) Toreen of Bird Island and Mona (and Steve) Hemingsen of Orange Park, Fla; four brothers: John (and Nancy) Menz of Castle Rock, Colo., Bob (and Audrey) Menz of Kennesaw, Ga., Tom (and Nancy) Menz of San Jacinto, Calif., and David (and Joyce) Menz of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents.
