OLIVIA -- Mary Lou Hauser, 63, of Anoka, formerly of Olivia, died Saturday at United Hospital in St. Paul after a battle with cancer.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Anoka.
Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel in Coon Rapids. Memorials are preferred to Parkway Family Physicians in St. Paul.
She was born June 18, 1943, in Baltimore, Md., to Carl and Cornelia Larson. She moved to Olivia in 1972, had a catering service and worked at Smiley's Supper Club. She moved to the Twin Cities in 1979. She was the director of the Ferry Street Homeless Shelter and an adult foster care provider for Anoka County. She was also a songwriter.

She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Anoka.
She is survived by her children: Carlotta (and John) Eischens of Olivia, Rock (and Kari) Hauser of Anoka, Carmen Swenson of Lone Tree, Iowa, Ryan (and Cherie) Hauser of New Prague, Shane Hauser of Olivia; 16 grandchildren; and four sisters: Elsa Peters of Pennsylvania, Penny Stromberg of Maiden Rock, Wis., Carol Fujere of Ankeny, Iowa, and Carla Locket of Fargo, N.D.
