NEW LONDON -- Maxine Mary Gravley, 82, of New London died Sunday at her home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
She was born on Aug. 23, 1925, in Jeffers to Herman and Ethel (McCartney) Schopper. She grew up in Jeffers and later Brooten, where she attended elementary and high school.
She married James Rooney on June 5, 1945, in Brooten. They lived in the Brooten area where she worked as a homemaker. James died in 1971.

She married Wilbert 'Bud' Gravley on July 22, 1972, in Sauk Centre. They lived in New London where she worked as a nurse's aid and kitchen aid at Glen Oaks Care Center.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; children: Diane (and Dennis) Rupp of New London, Faye (and Jim) Vogt of Ft. Myers, Fla, Gayland (and Diane) Rooney of Hawick; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband; daughters: Laurel Iverson in 2005 and Valorie Rooney in infancy; and a brother.
