LITCHFIELD -- Maybelle Alexandria Nelson, 104, of Litchfield died Saturday at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at church.
She was born Feb. 17, 1902, in Meeker County to Mike and Elna (Persson) Mortenson. She attended rural school through the eighth grade. She stayed on the home farm keeping house for her father and siblings after her mother died.

On March 7, 1936, she married Birger Nelson in Litchfield. They farmed for a short time near Litchfield; then in Forest City Township. In 1959, they sold their farm and moved to Litchfield. He died in 1963. She lived in her home until 1994, when she became a resident of Bethany Home. She moved to Emmanuel Home in 1995. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she was active in her church group.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (and Marlyn) Anderson of Litchfield; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and six brothers.
