EDEN VALLEY – A 55-year-old Eden Valley man is in the Meeker County Jail facing charges for allegedly assaulting his father with a gun.
The incident was reported at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 34300 block of 617th Avenue in Eden Valley.
According to a preliminary report from Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze, the victim told law enforcement that his adult son took a gun away from him then threw him to the ground.
The son allegedly put the gun to the victim’s neck and pulled the trigger but the gun jammed and did not fire.
The victim received minor injuries during the altercation that did not require medical attention, according to a news release.

The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived but was later arrested in Eden Valley without incident and is being held in the Meeker County Jail pending a court appearance.
