LITCHFIELD -- Melvin August Fred Reich, 83, of Litchfield, formerly of Grove City, died Wednesday in Litchfield.
The service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City.
Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church.

He was born July 2, 1922, in Danvers to Paul and Hulda (Erdman) Reich. He attended school at District 90.
He married Joyce Gregersen on Feb. 10, 1953, in Kerkhoven. They farmed for four yeas and then moved to Fairmont, where he worked at Erickson Furniture Store for nine years. They moved to Grove City, and he worked at the Grove City School for 30 years.
He served as mayor of Grove City and was a member of the Grove City Fire Department. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield and was active in the Men's Club, as an usher, and as a trustee.
He is survived by his wife; children: Rodney (and Brenda) of Grove City, Wayne (and Janet) of Atwater, Linden (and Susan) of Benson, Vicky Polzin of Grand Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one stillborn daughter: Julie; one brother and one sister.
