MORRIS -- Melvin J. C. Becker, 88, of Morris died Tuesday at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Burial will be at the Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris.
He was born July 3, 1919, in Synnes Township, Stevens County, to Louis and Ella (Spieker) Becker. He attended school through the eighth grade.

He married Allowese Schulz on July 18, 1944, in Holloway. They farmed until 1960, when they moved to Morris. He was employed by Purina Feed for several years. Then he worked at Morris Co-op Association for 20 years. After his retirement, he did various maintenance jobs at several places in Morris for 10 years.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock.
He is survived by his wife; one son: Loren (and June) Becker of Hancock; one daughter: Holly (and Brad) Svea of Starbuck; two grandchildren; and one sister: Mildred Hoppe of Minneapolis.
