Men arrested while attempting to steal medical-grade freezer near Litchfield

LITCHFIELD -- A 25-year-old Hawick man and a 17-year-old boy from Litchfield were arrested Sunday morning for allegedly attempting to steal a medical-grade freezer north of Litchfield.

LITCHFIELD - A 25-year-old Hawick man and a 17-year-old boy from Litchfield were arrested Sunday morning for allegedly attempting to steal a medical-grade freezer north of Litchfield.

According to a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, the burglary in progress was reported just after 8 a.m. Sunday along the 31000 block of 620th Avenue in Harvey Township.

The responding deputies found that the teen and Mathew Bloomquist had allegedly entered a shed on the property and attempted to take the freezer, which was valued between $5,000 and $8,000.

Both suspects were arrested on third-degree burglary and theft charges and are being held in the county jail.

The burglary remains under investigation.
