MAYNARD -- Merlin M. Miller, 81, of Maynard died Monday at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. Burial will be at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Cemetery in rural DeGraff.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

He was born March 27, 1925, near Sanborn to Lyman and Vernie (Kyar) Miller. They lived in the Springfield area where he attended country school. The family moved to the Maynard area in 1944. He helped his father with farming and their livestock trucking.
He married Viola Tomschin on June 19, 1947, in Kerkhoven. They lived in the Maynard area until 1952, when they moved to the DeGraff area. They moved to their current home in 1958. He retired from farming and their dairy operation in 1986.
He is survived by his wife; children: Nancy (and Charles) Anderson of Rice, Jerry (and Karol) Miller of Smartsville, Calif., Rodney (and Barb) Miller of Raymond, Kathy (and Eldon) Mahlum of Kerkhoven, Linda (and Kevin) Korn of Garretson, S.D., Eric (and TerryJo) Miller of Clara City, Mark (and Kim) Miller of Clara City; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son: Terry in 1987.
