Michael C. 'Jerry' Coy

DANVERS -- Michael C. "Jerry" Coy, 86, of Danvers died Thursday at Meadow Lane Health Care Center in Benson.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Visitation Catholic Church in Danvers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a 6 p.m. prayer service, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson and for one hour prior to the service at the church in Danvers. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.

He was born Feb. 17, 1920, to Morris and Agnes (Quigley) Coy. He grew up and attended grade school in Danvers. He graduated from Benson High School and attended St. John's University for two years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945 during World War II.
He married Dorothy Amundson on June 28, 1947, in Danvers. They lived in Danvers and owned and operated Coy's Store.
He was a member of the volunteer fire department in Danvers, the Visitation Parish Council, was a school board member in Danvers and a member of the Benson VFW Post 1403.
He is survived by his wife; children: Michael (and Michael Brasky) Coy of Seattle, Mary Coy of Minneapolis, Thomas (and Annette) Coy of Bothell, Wash., Anne (and Sherman) Olson of Danvers; five grandchildren; and siblings: Kathleen Coy of Minneapolis, Dorothy Kollitz of St. Paul, and William Coy of Maryknoll, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by one sister and an infant brother.
