GLENWOOD -- Mildred Frances Thompson, 89, of Glenwood died Friday at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.

The service will be 11 a.m. today at the All Saints Chapel at the Glenwood Retirement Village. Interment will be in the Grove Lake Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the All Saints Chapel.

She was born on May 4, 1917, in Grove Lake Township to Franklin and Elsie (Fowlds) Woodhall. She grew up in the Grove Lake area and attended schools in Grove Lake, Minneapolis and Glenwood.

She married Clayton Thompson on Nov. 6, 1934. They farmed and lived in the country except for a three-year period during World War II when they lived in Seattle and she was employed at a Boeing airplane plant. After retiring, they spent their winters in Mission, Texas.

She was a founding member of the United Parish Church and sang in its choir. She was a member of U.P. W. and the Friendly Get-to-gether Club.

She is survived by two sons: Franklin (and Beverly) Thompson of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Douglas Thompson of Alexandria; two daughters: Marjorie (and Ralph) Lang of Villard, and Donna (and Lewis) Hahn of Glenwood; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister: Lovetta Moran of Whittier, Calif.; sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, a brother and a sister.
