ALEXANDRIA -- Mildred Magdalene Kiehne, 91, of Alexandria, formerly of Benson, died Monday at Knute Nelson Nursing Home in Alexandria.
The service was Friday at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Burial was at Kinkead Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Memorial are preferred to First Lutheran Church or Friends of the Douglas County Library.
She was born March 16, 1915, in Benson to Leonard Pederson and Ella (Boyd) Pederson. She graduated from Benson High School in 1933. She worked as a stenographer and secretary, and moved to Alexandria when she was 23.

She married Harold Kiehne on Dec. 1, 1945, win Alexandria. She was a homemaker. In 1962 she began working as a stenographer and clerk at the Douglas County welfare office, a job she held for 14 years. Harold died in 1986. She moved to Nelson Gables in 2001 and Knute Nelson in 2004.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and volunteered in the church office.
She is survived by her children: James (Linda) Kiehne of Minneapolis, Richard (LuAnne) Kiehne of Forest Lake, Kathryn (and Joel) Weber of St. Cloud, Alan (and Lorna) Kiehne of Bemidji; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister: Beth Pearson of Benson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.
