VILLARD -- Mildred Olive "Mickey" Wig, 94, of Villard, died Wednesday at Glenwood Retirement Village.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood United Parish. Burial will be in West Lake Amelia Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

She was born March 13, 1914, in Fairmont to Henry and Margareta (Wieck) Goerndt. When she was 2 years old, her mother and infant brother died. With her father unable to care for her, she lived in a state-run orphanage until she was 9 and returned home to live with her father in Glenwood. She attended high school in Glenwood, graduating in 1934.
She married Sylvanus Victor Wig on Oct. 8, 1934, in Big Stone City, S.D. They lived in Glenwood for the next seven years before moving to Minneapolis and ultimately settling in St. Paul. She worked as a nurse's aide for 19 years. When they retired in 1978, they moved to Lake Amelia near Glenwood. She wintered in Harlegen, Texas, for 19 years.
She is survived by her four children: Patricia (and Lloyd) Larsen of Santa Ana, Calif., Beverly Homburg of Wyoming, Minn., Roger (and Terri) Wig of South St. Paul and Sheila (and Clyde) Sylvester of Savage; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, four brothers and two sisters.
