Miller seeks local input on H5N5 virus

ST. PAUL -- Meetings will be held next week in Benson, Olivia and Montevideo to gather input on the impact of the avian influenza epidemic and answer the questions of producers and others affected.

ST. PAUL - Meetings will be held next week in Benson, Olivia and Montevideo to gather input on the impact of the avian influenza epidemic and answer the questions of producers and others affected.
State Rep. Tim Miller, R-Prinsburg, is hosting the meetings and said he would be joined by Steve Olson, director of the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association. Miller also invited representatives from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the Minnesota Board of Animal Health.
The meetings start at 10 a.m.
• Tuesday: Benson Fire Hall, 1410 Kansas Avenue, Benson
• Wednesday: Renville County Government Services building, Room 116, 105 S. 5th Street, Olivia
• Thursday: Montevideo City Hall, 103 Canton Avenue, Montevideo
“I think it’s important that our turkey growers hear the most up to date information from those who are working closely to address this problem, and I encourage them to attend the session that best fits into their busy schedules,” Miller said in a news release.
