MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Anti-Wall Street protesters who are occupying a government plaza in Minneapolis have set up tents in defiance of a county ban.
The protesters set up clear plastic tents Saturday afternoon. Authorities had said tents wouldn't be allowed because they're a public-safety risk, so the protesters say they "opted for transparency" by using see-through tents.
A WCCO-TV report says none of the tent-making protesters was immediately arrested.
Authorities said Friday if they saw protesters putting up a tent they'd ask the demonstrators to stop. If the protester declined, authorities said police would take down the tent and return it at a later date.
In one concession, the county did allow a temporary 20-by-30-foot structure with a roof and no sides for people to take shelter in bad weather.
