WILLMAR - MinnWest Technology Campus will host its fourth annual Animal Science Conference on Oct. 1
The yearly event is a showcase for expert speakers and panel discussions on current trends and issues in the animal sciences, from animal care to water quality and food integrity.
The keynote session on managing public perceptions about on-farm animal care will be delivered by Charlie Arnot, founder and president of the consulting firm CMA and chief executive of the Center for Food Integrity.
He will address public concern about on-farm animal care, the growth of new requirements for livestock welfare, what the industry can expect in the future and how businesses can adapt.
Other sessions will include panel discussions on food and consumer trends, water issues and the use of antibiotics in food production. There also will be a presentation on the ag economic outlook, as well as a policy and regulatory update on issues affecting the ag and animal science industry.
An evening reception preceding the Animal Science Conference will be hosted Sept. 30 at the Willmar Conference Center.
