ST. CLOUD -- The body of a missing local resident last seen riding an ATV was found in open water Friday on the west side of Rice Lake in Eden Lake Township.
A news release from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a report was received at 4 p.m. Friday that a local resident was missing and had last been seen Thursday night riding an ATV. A search of the area led to the discovery of the person and the ATV in the water in Rice Lake.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
The ATV is still in the lake.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by conservation officers from the state Department of Natural Resources.
