WILLMAR -- The public is invited to attend an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the lobby area next to the Sweet Depot at 207 N. Sibley Ave. in Litchfield to give feedback on a 2019 reconstruction project involving downtown Litchfield. According to a news release, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is planning a reconstruction of U.S. Highway 12 and state Highway 22 through downtown Litchfield in 2019.
The reconstruction involves four blocks of Highway 12 and Highway 22 from Commercial Street to Fourth Street. The reconstruction includes the roadway and sidewalks.
Prior to the construction MnDOT is requesting feedback from the community as part of the Highway 12 Downtown Litchfield Study. The study aims to identify the needs of the Litchfield community and other roadway users.
