ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system are going on the road to get the public's thoughts about some of the vexing facing issues facing MnSCU.
The system says that between 2000 and 2009, enrollment has gone up 26 percent while the state's share of the costs of educating students has dropped significantly. At the same time, the average annual tuition has doubled.
So the trustees are looking for the public's help in identifying the toughest challenges facing higher education and what should be the system's priorities in five to 10 years.
Further, the trustees want input on how the system can better meet the public's needs now and in the future.
