Montevideo man injured in early morning crash near Renville

RENVILLE -- A Montevideo man was injured early this morning near Renville when the vehicle he was driving side-swiped a semi-truck and trailer. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Kirk Glann, 31, was driving a 2002 Chrysler Concorde west on U.S.

RENVILLE –– A Montevideo man was injured early this morning near Renville when the vehicle he was driving side-swiped a semi-truck and trailer.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Kirk Glann, 31, was driving a 2002 Chrysler Concorde west on U.S. Highway 212 when the vehicle drifted over the centerline, sideswiped a 2007 Mack truck, spun off the road and ended up in a driveway on the north side of the road.

Glann was taken to the RC Hospital in Olivia with what’s believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A passenger, Shilo-Kay Preston, 21, of Montevideo, was not injured.

The driver of the semi, Brian Gorres, 35, of Granite Falls, was not injured.

The accident, which was reported at 1:19 a.m., happened about a mile west of Renville.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident, according to the State Patrol.
