Montevideo man killed while moving snow

MONTEVIDEO -- A rural Montevideo man was killed yesterday when the front-end loader he was using to move snow rolled down a hill.

According to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Department, they were notified around 2 p.m. Sunday that Lloyd Koch, 80, was using a loader to move snow on his property and could not be found.

Rescue personal arrived and discovered Koch and the loader had rolled down a hill behind his residence.

Koch was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, Chippewa County Ambulance and the Montevideo Fire Department.
