MONTEVIDEO -- Montevideo found its rebounding muscle to edge Lac qui Parle Valley in the area's highest-scoring boys basketball game this season, 93-84, in West Central South action Tuesday.

"Not that defenses didn't contend, but both teams ran the offense so well; it was one of the best games I've seen, start to finish," said Montevideo coach Steve Rohloff.

The Thunder Hawks won their ninth straight game and are 4-0 in the league. The Eagles (2-2, 7-3) saw their seven-game win streak end.

LQPV held the advantage early in the first half, using its height to grab an 11-point lead.

Montevideo picked its way back in on the strength of its rebounding. Sophomore Nolan Jasperson led the way with five offensive boards in the first half and finished with 16 overall.
