SPICER -- A motor vehicle accident involving a moped, an automobile and a semi truck was reported at 3:54 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of state Highway 23 and County Road 10 in Spicer.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 1978 Honda Moped crossed the intersection on a red light and a 2006 Chevy Impala crashed into the broadside of the moped followed by a 2003 International 4000 semi truck crashing into it.
The driver of the moped; Marion Junior Mills, 69, of Spicer; was reported as the only injury in the accident.
The serious injuries sustained by Mills were considered non-life threatening, but he was flown from Rice Hospital to Hennepin County Medical Center. The report also said he was not wearing a helmet.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office was the first to respond to the accident.
