More gator sightings reported in northern Minnesota

BRAINERD, Minn. -- After an alligator was spotted south of Brainerd on July 9, other possible sightings have been reported to law enforcement officials.

BRAINERD, Minn. - After  an alligator was spotted south of Brainerd on July 9 , other possible sightings have been reported to law enforcement officials.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office received two possible alligator sightings after the alligator was found on the bike path south of Brainerd.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office responded to that incident and retrieved the alligator, which was brought to the Safari North Wildlife Park.

Cass County received its first report of a possible sighting July 13, where the reporting party indicated she saw an alligator on July 2 in Sylvan Township.

The second report was Monday morning near the Hardy Lake area. The sheriff’s office said deputies checked the areas but did not locate any creature of any kind in either incident.
