The wintry weather is prompting more and more Minnesota schools to start late or call off classes today.
Schools in at least 55 districts -- mostly in northwestern and western Minnesota -- are delaying the start of classes or canceling them altogether.
A winter storm warning is in effect for western and north-central Minnesota this morning through tonight.
The Detroit Lakes State Patrol is advising no travel because of the icy roads.
More than an inch of rain has fallen in Marshall, and freezing rain and snow are expected.

Power was out for about three-and-a-half hours this morning in Ivanhoe, in the southwestern corner of Minnesota.
The Lincoln County sheriff's office says power was restored around 8:30 after going out around five a.m..
