One fined, one injured in crash
WILLMAR -- A 19-year-old woman suffered minor injuries Monday morning after the car in which she was riding was rear-ended by another car along 15th Avenue Northwest.
According to a report filed with the Willmar Police Department, Katie A. Johnson, 19, of Salol, near Lake of the Woods, and Jessica D. Haughlin, 19, no address listed, were stopped at a stop sign about a half-mile west of County Road 41 when their vehicle was rear-ended. The two women were rear-ended by a car driven by Janell G. Kelley, 19, of Spicer.
Haughlin hit her head during the crash, but was treated at the scene where Willmar Ambulance assisted.
Both vehicles involved were Chevy Cavaliers.

Olivia woman injured in crash
OLIVIA -- A 23-year-old Olivia woman suffered minor injuries Sunday night after the car which she was driving was rear-ended at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and U.S. Highway 212.
According to a report filed by the Minnesota State Patrol, Grace A. Lippert had stopped her Chevy Monte Carlo at the intersection when she was reportedly rear-ended by Tina M. Carreon, 27, of St Cloud. Carreon was driving a Ford Ranger. Neither Carreon nor her passengers, Angel F. Rivera, 32, of Rockville and Marta M. Torres, 21, of St. Cloud, were injured in the crash.
The crash happened around 10 p.m. just outside of Olivia. The Olivia Police Department and Renville County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
Elevator burglarized
MINNESOTA FALLS -- A burglary was reported Sunday evening to the Renville County Sheriff's Office at the Farmer's Co-op Elevator along County Road 37 in the western part of Renville County.
The burglary reportedly happened between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Tools and power tools were allegedly taken from the co-op, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
Investigators believe at least three people are responsible for committing the burglary. A light-colored, extended-cab pickup is also believed to have been used.

Assault
WILLMAR -- An assault was reported to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department around 7:35 a.m. Monday at the Kandiyohi County Jail, 2201 23rd St. N.E.
Theft
WILLMAR -- The theft of a car stereo was reported to the Willmar Police Department around 10:45 p.m. Sunday along the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest. The dashboard of the vehicle was reportedly torn up and a $100 CD player taken.
PENNOCK -- The theft of 40 blank checks was reported to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department around 9:10 a.m. Monday along the 200 block of Horseshoe Drive Northwest.
