West Central Conference athletic directors appealed the placement of Mora and Milaca in the league starting in 2008-09, but to no one's surprise, a hearing officer at the Minnesota State High School League office in Brooklyn Center upheld the league's recommendation.
WCC officials had objected to the placement based on Mora's and Milaca's enrollment and east-central location. Milaca (475 enrollment) and Mora (451) will be the largest in the conference, along with Foley (455), which joins in the fall of 2007.
All three schools are members of the soon-to-be defunct Rum River Conference.
